As a child I was always told my hair was “too thick”, “untamable”, and “a lot to handle”. I received my first relaxer from my mother who was advised by my Creole grandmother to “Do that babies hair! It’s too thick and unmanageable”. At the tender age of three I began to perceive what beauty was and how hair was supposed to look. And that didn’t’ involve my kinky curls.

Once I was in college and cared much less about people's opinions of me I decided to return natural. I hit a small bump in the road though. As I was transitioning I began to see big and small flakes on my scalp that ultimately coating my roots and hair. At the time I had no clue to what was going on or how to fix it. After doing much research I decided to use Tea Tree Oil, butters, and carrier oils to make my own home mixture (as all over the shelf remedies lacked results I wanted). In that moment the concept of AliviyahBlis oil blend was born.
